Coral Compass checks in on Tynemouth Aquarium's new Orphek LED lighting install

Orphek LED lighting UK’s distributor; Coral Compass visited Tynemouth Aquarium this month to see the progress of the new Orphek lighting install. Recently renamed Tynemouth Aquarium, the project was undertaken to upgrade existing lighting to Orphek’s new energy efficient LED lighting range developed for Public Aquariums. Tynemouth Aquarium selected a range of Orphek Amazonas and OR2 Bar LEDs to light over 30 aquarium exhibits.

Powerful, energy efficient and versatile, the newly developed Amazonas 320 has been developed with a revolutionary emitters; XP 80 White v4 and XP 80 Blue. Each fixture contains 4x 80Watts totalling 320Watts and is the most advanced LED light fixture in the world. Built with 3-watt LED chip matrix, hosting 11 different types of LEDs to create the perfect spectrum. Each matrix chip will operate at only 80Watts ensuring longevity and high efficiency.
